Spoolin' Around

I bought a quilt pattern about a year ago that had a lot of spools of thread on it turned in different directions.  I carried it around with me for several months, gathering material for it.  I now have over 24 different materials in stripes, polka dots, and patterns, with no pattern to be found.  I have searched high and low for it, to no avail!!!  Well, last year I bought a computer program called Electric Quilt 7.  You can create your own pattern and then it will print out the templates you need to piece together the squares to make your finished quilt!  It has all kinds of custom blocks with material you can play around with, in your design.  You can also upload your own material, so you can see what your finished quilt will look like.  I found a spool pattern in the library of the program, but to me it did not look like a spool of thread, so I adjusted the pattern and came up with my own block!!

I couldn't sleep last night thinking of putting it together!!

I will post a picture of a finished block soon!!

  1. YOU are truly a creative mastermind! I think you need a National tv show to give sewing and quilting tips. OK just a column in a newspaper. maybe this blog will get you noticed! hooray for you!
